From my point of view

for everyone
Yes, I'm collecting sand from different beaches and coasts around the world. I've got some of these from my summer vacation here in the Philippines, and some during my travels abroad. I really regret that I didnt start this collection before when I was really traveling more often than usual. I missed a lot of opportunities especially Thailand and Malaysia. So I guess I have to go those places again to get sand! Hehe :P

Comparing the sand that I have, the ones competing for the title of the "Whitest and finest" sand are the ones from Boracay Island (Philippines) and Redang Island (Malaysia).

I still have lots of excess sand. Those who might want to start their collection or trade may PM me. I really wish I could grow this collection!

Thanks to Allan Campena for my Boracay sand.

UPDATE (11-03-2009): The whitest and finest sand in my collection now belongs to Samet Island, Thailand! While the blackest sand is from Pantai Pasir Hitam, Langkawi, Malaysia.

Here are some from my collection:

I have seen these two with my own eyes and I must say that Redang sand is finer and whiter than Boracay sand. Very sad but true!

You should also compare sand from Bohol. I remember they're as fine and white as bora. That of Bohol Beach club, anyway.

Oh cool! i think i passed Rawa before from my trip to Tioman island... some travellers i met said it's really lovely there and with a very private beach.
Boracay Island is a popular beach spot in the Philippines - white sand, hip and happening party, gorgeous people! you should visit it someday.
And of course we can trade some sand. just contact me if you happen to pass by KL, or ill contact you if i pass by Singapore. :)

The bottles look so big Julie, what an interesting idea (of course if one has the opportunity to travel like you!) And so the traveling continues...
